Practice Standards Cardno Chenoweth aims for and promotes high standards of professional practice, by a combination of: - Commitment to ethical practice at company and personal level, including compliance with institute Codes of Ethics such as those of EIANZ and AILA;
- Support for and membership of industry certification programs including Certified Environmental Practitioner (CEnvP) and Registered Landscape Architect schemes;
- Internal quality management procedures, reviews of projects and staff performance;
- Continuing professional development (CPD) by all team members and reviewed regularly, including internal seminars and encouragement of study, research, networking and attendance at institute and external programs, plus active mentoring by senior staff;
- Benchmarking of outputs against other examples of industry best practice, through award submissions, involvement in multi-disciplinary studies, expert witness roles and third party reviews; and feedback from clients, agencies and colleagues; and
- Exposure to legal and community scrutiny through Court appeals

The Certified Environmental Practitioner (CEnvP) scheme is an initiative of the EIANZ to raise the standard of professional practice. It aims to ensure high standards in the profession by recognising senior qualified practiioners with 5 years or more experience, who are technically competent and ethical as attested by respected referees and validated by panel interviews, and who actively maintain CPD (see www.cenvp.org) Alan Chenoweth is founding CEnvP Board member, and both he and David Francis are CEnvPs.
Registered Landscape Architect status is awarded by the Australian Institute of Landscape Architects (AILA) to graduates of accredited courses arfter 2 years of practice experience and a 12 month assessment process, and maintain registration through CPD. Both Alan Chenoweth and Ian Lowndes are Registered Landscape Architects.
