Alan is Business Unity Manager and Senior Principal of Cardno Chenoweth, a Certified Environmental Practitioner and Registered Landscape Architect, with over 30 years experience in plant sciences, landscape design, conservation and land development, resource assessment and management, community consultation, environmental impacts, visual assessment, park and recreation planning, and generally in the integration of ecological and landscape studies with town planning. With qualifications in agricultural science, landscape architecture and planning, expertise in plant ecology, conservation and environmental planning, and a Churchill Fellowship in site planning for social housing, Alan brings a balanced and multi-disciplinary approach to land use and development issues. He has particular expertise in the assessment of conservation significance of remnant vegetation and coastal landscapes, and has won several planning awards for innovative approaches to 'green planning'. He is also an experienced expert witness, having given evidence or prepared reports for more than 150 Planning & Environment Court Appeals, mainly associated with the environmental, visual and open space impacts of development. Alan's tertiary teaching experience includes horticulture, consultation techniques, landscape evaluation and environmental impact assessment and management, he is a regular speaker at professional conferences and seminars, and represents various professional organisations on government panels and advisory committees. Alan is currently on the Certification Board of the Environment Institute of Australia and New Zealand. He has previously served as President and international representative of Australian Institute of Landscape Architects, Chair of the International Landscape Architecture Alliance (for which he was awarded Honorary Corresponding Membership of the Landscape Institute UK), President of the Australian Institute of Horticulture, chair of Building Design Professions (Qld) and Queensland President of the Royal Australian Institute of Parks and Recreation (now Parks & Leisure Australia), and on the Management Committee of Environmental Defenders Office (Qld). Alan is currently studying part-time at Griffith University towards a PhD on the ethics of environmental practice.

David is an environmental scientist with 18 years experience in flora studies, vegetation mapping, ecological assessments, ecological restoration plans and environmental planning. He has an excellent knowledge of the vegetation communities and plant species of Southeast and Central Queensland, including identification of 'at risk' species. David has had considerable experience in Regional Ecosystem and wetland mapping and the evaluation of conservation significance. He is an expert in applying the Common Nature Conservation Classification System, corridor planning and environmental planning at a local and regional scale. His expertise also includes wildlife corridor planning, with particular knowledge of barrier mitigation measures for linear infrastructure such as roads. David's knowledge of Commonwealth, State and Local Government statutory requirements in relation to nature conservation enables him to provide sound planning advice to local government.

David is actively involved in the environmental industry. This has included participation in DERM's Expert Panel for the SEQ Biodiversity and Planning Assessment and co-convening the EIANZ's 'Breaking the Barriers: Infrastructure Solutions to Ecological Problems.

Candice has over 7 years experience in administration and accounts and during the past year has switched more of her focus on the Marketing and Public Relation needs of the firm. Thus developing a strong base of Marketing skills. This also works in conjunction with her higher education studies.

Throughout her time with the organisation she has initiated countless changes to aid in the smooth running of the office including the creation of a procedures manual, WHS forms, overhaul of marketing materials and introduction of an ebulletin.

Her efficiency and can do attitude have attributed to her great success as Business Unit Administrator.
