Revegetation & Management
The natural resource capabilities of Chenoweth EPLA include particular expertise in revegetation and habitat rehabilitation. Our team of environmental scientists and landscape architects have qualifications, skills and experience in plant ecology, vegetation assessment, community nature conservation, remnant bushland and natural area management. We have considerable experience in Vegetation Management Plans to meet Council, agency and legislative requirements, and bushland / waterway management plans for community title schemes. These often include revegetation and weed control specifications, and are fully integrated with site development and landscape plans, and with environmental management plans for construction, stormwater and erosion control. Chenoweth EPLA is also experienced in the land care and vegetation management components of catchment management planning and for flooding and drainage studies. We are experienced in the necessary biological inventories, environmental protection measures, water-sensitive design solutions and community consultation. For riparian projects, we work closely with specialists in aquatic biology to identify and manage the habitats and ecological processes of in-stream biota Our capabilities and experience include vegetation mapping, landscape design, assessment of conservation priorities and open space values, park management and recreation planning, integrated within a town planning context. We are also experts in wildlife corridor planning and design, having prepared research-based guidelines for Queensland Department of Environment and Brisbane City Council. Our integrated and multi-disciplinary approach brings together: - the sciences of conservation biology and landscape ecology;
- the skills of sensitive landscape design;
- and experience in resource management and land development.
Drawing upon our familiarity with relevant research, legislation and policies, we apply these principles at all scales from broad regional revegetation strategies to local replanting schemes and detailed contract documentation. Our projects have ranged from broad-scale catchment and city-wide strategies to site-specific residential development, creek rehabilitation, highway batter stabilisation and erosion control on difficult soils. | Regional Strategies
Bioregional planning for biodiversity, corridor planning integrated with nature conservation, landscape, bushfires and catchment management in 'green networks'
Highway Corridors
Vegetation and landscape assessment, concept and detailed design, revegetation plans, faunal underpasses, batter treatments, erosion control, seed collection and plant propagation contracts.
Open Space Management Plans
Management for conservation, recreation, rehabilitation, scenic amenity, access, water quality & education in bushland remnants, waterways, foreshores, koala habitat and coastal wetlands, including bushfire hazard mappping.
Community Nature Conservation
Establishment, facilitation, planning & implementation of creek & bushland revegetation through neighbourhood groups, newsletters, workshops, community education and awareness.
Mining & Extractive Industry
Rehabilitation strategies, end-use plans, specifications and monitoring of areas disturbed by sand mining, quarries, oil shale, sand or gravel extraction.
