Company Background
Chenoweth Environmental Planning & Landscape Architecture was established in 1990 (as Chenoweth & Associates) by environmental planner and landscape architect Alan Chenoweth, following 16 years in the public, private and academic sectors. This prior experience included roles with AA Heath and Partners, Queensland National Parks and Wildlife Service, Cameron McNamara, Queensland Housing Commission, Sinclair Knight and Partners, and the Fraser Island Commission of Inquiry. In 1997 the practice was re-structured as Chenoweth EPLA and at the end of 2011 Chenoweth EPLA merged with Cardno to form Cardno Chenoweth.
In 2000, environmental scientist and botanist David Francis (previously with Greening Australia) joined the practice and has since further developed its ecological capabilities and services, becoming an Associate in 2003. The practice now has a substantial record of more than 1000 projects successfully completed for clients in all levels of government and the private development sector, either as primary consultant or as a sub-consultant to planners, engineers, surveyors, architects and solicitors. These projects range from site-specific ecological assessments and designs, Planning & Environment Court appeals and single-issue reports, to larger research studies and multi-disciplinary investigations. Many of these have won Awards (see Awards and Honours page) and/or have incorporated innovative approaches to meet client needs, and all have contributed to our reputation for excellence, thoroughness and balance.
For the past 20 years, Chenoweth EPLA has remained a small but cross-disciplinary team of consultants focused on the 'green' areas of ecology, landscape and open space; but within this niche we provide expert services across a broad range of clients and project types. |
