Environmental Management and Rehabilitation

The natural resource capabilities of Cardno Chenoweth include particular expertise in revegetation and ecological restoration and management, with particular application to quarries, riparian and wetland areas, linear infrastructure and wildlife corridors. Our team of environmental scientists, ecologists and landscape architects have qualifications, skills and experience in plant ecology, fauna habitat, vegetation assessment, community nature conservation, remnant bushland and natural area management. We have considerable experience in Environmental Management Plans, Vegetation Management Plans and ecological restoration plans to meet Council, agency and legislative requirements, and bushland/waterway management plans for community title schemes.

Cardno Chenoweth has prepared and helped implement and review vegetaion protection meausres for local governments, and has advised Councils, highway authorities and government agencies regarding revegetation and protected area management. This experience provides a basis for advice to land development and other private sector clients regarding agency requirements. Our projects have ranged from broad-scale catchment and city-wide strategies to site-specific, residential development, creek rehabilitation, batter stabilisation, fauna corssings and erosion and sediment control.

Our integrated and multi-disciplinary approaches bring together:

  • The sciences of conservation biology and landscape ecology;
  • The skills of sensitive landscape design;
  • Experience in resource management and land development; and
  • A planning and ESD context.

Drawing upon our familiarity with relevant research, legislation and policies, we apply these principles at all scales from regional strategies and open space planning, to local revegetation schemes and site tree protection and weed management.
